Go to this page and you will see a link that takes you to the "deleting a yahoo account" page...I've used it before and it works. After you do that just go to start - control panel (or settings then control panel if your on Win98-2000) - add and remove programs and completely remove Yahoo Messenger.

You can uninstall it. Click on the Windows Start button on the taskbar and select Setting Control Panel. Click on Add/Remove Programs, find the Messenger program and remove it.

first order of business is to cancel your account and create a new id and then don't "register" it with yahoo messenger. remove the messenger programs from your pc, then go through and do a "search" from the "start" button on your task bar, and enter the word "messenger." view all the files that contain that name and delete delete delete!!! good luck!!
