There's all sorts of jobs you can take, depending on your area! I presentlly work with a great kid with Asperger's syndrome, thwarting off bullies and keeping him on task. I play games with the kids and protect my kid from having breakdowns. Its one of the most awarding jobs ever.
Craigslist.org is a good site to advertise the job you want, and look for something similar. Also, attend any group meetings for parents of Cancer patients, etc.
Good luck! It's a great job for the right person, many kids need good people to look up to.
All the best, Cree

Just a couple of days ago there was a thing on television about Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. There are some women who go in and play with the children, but I believe they are volunteers.
They are called the "Play Ladies". I haven't heard if hospitals ever hire someone or if this type of thing is always on a volunteer basis
Someone I know, though, applied for a job at a local park. They hire people (about $10 an hour I believe) to teach crafts. The same person applied to a couple of day camps as well.

ok! iam a nurse, if you are majoring elementary education major in english usually you can get a job on the public and private school.
yes there are jobs like that but nurses like us gets that job because we are the one who are taking care of the old and young patients try to shift or enroll to another course if you want to destined to the hospitals or Bspsychology if you want to. There are care givers courses only for 6 to 7 months trust me!because teachers are usually into thier class rooms teaching kids reading writing and teaching theme good manners and right conduct! you can get along with theme in the class room,or if you are a nurse you can get along with theme unto the hospitals.Like you i love kids so much! Love to play with theme chess boards,or da-maths! im-patient kids they are lock of attention. Try to make friends with theme!

If I were you, I'd look into specialized children's hospitals (like the Shriner's Hospitals or something in your area). They're always looking for people to help with inpatients (they even have a school area during the school year, for children who have to miss school for major surgeries). I can imagine the pay would be rather pitiful, but it sounds like you're in it for your love of helping children.

I'm not sure but why not call around to a few hospitals and see? Talk to someone at school in the career dept and ask them.

There aren't jobs like that. You will learn more in college about what is available in that area.
