1. 1 + square root of 2; 1 - square root of 2
2. x = 4; 4^2 = 16 and 4(4) = 16
3. The graph on quad. eq is the parabola, in which the points where the parabola intersects the x - axis are called roots or solutions.Use the discriminant- b^2 - 4ac, this tells you how many roots the equation has. Positive# - 2 roots. Zero - 1 root. Neg.# - 0 root.

Hope this helped

1. m = [-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4*a*c)] / (2*a)
a = 3, b = 6, c = -3
m = [-6 +- sqrt(6^2 - 4*3*-3)] / (2*3)
= [-6 +- sqrt(36 + 36)] / 6
= [-6 +- sqrt(72)]/6
= [-6 +- sqrt(36 * 2)]/5
= [-6 +- 6*sqrt(2)]/6
= -1 +- sqrt(2)
