I went to a Mary Kay party last night, my 2nd one in 4 years. They say the the number one in Skin Care. Do you find it the same as the products in the stores, like Clean and Clear, Neutragena etc. Or is there a difference?

"the number one in Skin Care"
Actually, the Mary Kay company itself makes no such claim that I can find. That is a common myth that consultants seems to use in their sales pitch. The company's claim is "Today, Mary Kay Inc. is one of the largest cosmetic companies in the world and has acheived a leading-brand status in the United States."
I sell MK because I love the products. There are many myths out there that are used by consultants to help sell products but I feel that if you like the products, you'll buy them, if you don't, you won't and nothing else I say is going to change that.
I just found this in a new "At A Glance" brochure released from the company: "In the United States, Mary Kay is once again the best-selling brand in the combined categories of facial skin care and color cosmetics." Data is based on the most recent industry sales data and actual Mary Kay sales.

I think Mary Kay has a great product, however I find it to be way over priced. As for number one in skin care, I think that could be wishful advertising on their part.
Maybelline is number one in the market share.
Avon is second, followed by Loreal and Lancome.
I will place my skin care in the hands of Avon any day, and I have. The best for the money.

There is a HUGE difference!!! I went to a Mary Kay party a few years ago and I loved it so much signed up for it just so I could get the discount but I ended up selling it instead. Mary Kay skin care is very good. Their younger line (don't remember the name, but the packaging is white and orage, I think) is excellent and smells amazing, and the timewise lines are really great. Other brands are good as well, but you're not going to find quality like what you get from MK in a drug store. I use proactive myself, which is also amazing!

I sell Mary Kay, only because I really like their skin care. It works great for me. However, test it out because there are some people it does not work for. I will tell you that as amazing as their skin care is, the cosmetics are not as great

There's a reason why Mary Kay has been so successful for so long and that's because they have excellent products. Get with a consultant and they will let you know what products will benefit you most. I assure you, you won't regret it.

I started using MK back in October, and I absolutely love it. My skin is in better shape than it has ever been. I don't use the make up...only the skin care. I have actually gotten compliments on my skin...no lie. That used to never happen. I know I sound like an infomercial....but it really works.
