I have heard that it is quite a wonderful experience, unfortunately the whole concept was highly disapproved of when I had my children, many eons ago.......

Would not consider it at all. Babies are not amphibians. The explanation that they are created in fluid thus to be birthed into fluid is ridiculous!
While some Mothers may take this route to do so from some advice is a personal choice. Your question being posed to "pregnant" ladies I feel I can answer this based on personal opinion.
