Be sure that there is no computer, television set, game machine, etc. on. Dim or turn off most of the lights. Use some lavender essential oil - place a little on your pulse points, such as the wrists, at the neck, behind the ears and behind your knees. Also put a little directly under your nose. Take deep breaths and allow your mind to go as still as possible. If you continue to think about what you need to do tomorrow, write it down. Soon you will be asleep!

Lie in bed but keep telling yourself you MUST not go to sleep. Actually trying really hard to stay awake has the opposite effect and next thing you know it will be morning.
If you have trouble with this, go to the library and see if they have a hypnotherapy CD by Glenn Harrold, called "Deep Sleep Every Night". If it isn't there, ask if you can order it.

the best thing for me when i cant sleep and dont have sleeping pills is to read pick up a mag,book anything it works
