We all know you can't get anything for free, same goes with energy. Without making this to complicated. Can you make a vertical “windmill” and place it over the AC return unit and re-capture some of the energy into reusable energy without taking more energy to run the unit?

Or take a car, put a windmill type fan on the front and charge an electric car while in operation instead of only breaking?

I am not asking for 100% efficiently.

Well, here we run into one of the basic laws of physics, which basically says, you can't get more energy out of a system than what you put in.
*
Putting a windmill on your electric car would cause wind resistance, and slow the car down. If you figured out how much energy the car lost to slowing down, you would find out that you lost more energy than you gained from the windmill.
*
Likewise, you would be slowing down the air circulation of your air conditioner. However you do this, you would find out, in the end, that you lost a little more energy than you gained.

I'm sure something could be done. Its just a matter of knowing what and how. Who knows what may have already been invented, and for whatever reasons, wasn't made available to the public.
