It is a second-class planet, or a "dwarf planet", as the scienctists say.

It is considered a "dwarf" now. Here is a snippet of WHY it is officially no longer a planet...
Pluto, a planet since 1930, got the boot because it didn't meet the new rules, which say a planet not only must orbit the sun and be large enough to assume a nearly round shape, but must "clear the neighborhood around its orbit." That disqualifies Pluto, whose oblong orbit overlaps Neptune's, downsizing the solar system to eight planets from the traditional nine.

Like everyone else stated it is now a dwarf planet. But I wondered if any astrologers will have any say on this since some people have pluto aspects in their chart. And what will it do people who are Scorpios? On this one astrology board I'd visit some scorpios are going a little mad about this. lol

A Dwarf Planet - a consolation award, whatever that means. Do you still believe Scientists? Tomorrow, they may tell you it is called, Nano Dwarf Planet.
Oh Yes, there is finally a Caste system for the Planets too.

That is a good question. Pluto has always been the ruling planet for Scorpio and now I am a Scorpio without a home. :-(

The IAU fools call it a 'dwarf planet' which is like saying that 'dwarf people' are not 'people' as one user described it. To me, it is a REAL planet, no matter what the IAU decides. If you think on similar lines, oppose this decision by signing the petition at http://pleasesavepluto.org/

Dwarf planet, along with Ceres and 2003 UB 313 'Xena'. And in future, together with a load of others less well characterised...
"astronomers declared [pluto] to be the prototype for a new category of such “trans-Neptunian” objects, but declined in a close vote to approve the name “plutonians” for them".

It's a dwarf planet now and it's not even the biggest! The biggest dwarf planet is UB40 or U2 or some other astronomical designation.

A "dwarf" planet on an oblong orbit around the sun.
Yeah, doesn't make sense to me either.
Three cheers for Pluto! Hip-hip---aww, screw it.
