I do know that at my hospital second trimester abortions are done if there is a medical reason to do so. (although I have seen it done once because the baby was going to be missing fingers, and came out perfectly normal)
The problem with doing them in a hospital is that for me, I didn't sign up as a labour & delivery nurse to assist in abortions, I want to bring life into the world. Our manager says we should feel "empowered" because we should all be pro-choice, but essentially she is pushing her beliefs on us.
I am not saying I am for them or against them, but to answer your question, most hospitals do abortions for medical reasons.

Because abortion is such a touchy subject that if it's at a normal hospital people will go apeshit (like Jello). So I don't think there's a law--it's more of a moral topic. @Jello: I'm just putting this out there, but I think abortion is fine. A woman has a choice. So calm the f*ck down.

I have never heard of a hospital doing abortions, usually you have to contact your own doctor or planned parenthood or an abortion clinic. But sweetie think hard on this one. You see there are so many people that would be willing to adopt your baby including myself as I can't get pregnant and would love to hold a baby in my arms. My prayers are with you and your baby.

Hospitals do not do abortions. They will not even consider it. I would ask your doctor or just go to one of those Planned Parenthood places.

The do what are called missed ab's and d&c's which are for women who misscarried and the remains of the fetus did not come out completely. If it is a life threatening situation for the mothers health and she is not too far from full term they will do an abortion......but only to save the life of the endangered mother.

Yes. Especially if the woman has high risk health conditions. Is adoption an option? I would hope the pregnant woman would consider that option.
