One rubber band at a time...

There are two methods of making a rubber band ball. The purist will start with a rubber band bent a few times. The hobbiest will taint the ball (and get a head start) with a ball of paper. I would encourage everyone to just start with a rubber band rather than paper, it will be worth it in the end.
So buy a bag of small rubber bands and either get a ball of paper or bend a rubber band a few times. This will be the center of the ball. Now pick up a rubber band and wrap it round the ball tightly, looping the rubber band if you have to.

Take a rubber band out of your pile. If you pile is getting low order another bag of bands. For the next bag you might want to get a size larger so that the bands will still fit round your now larger ball. Stretch your rubber band round the ball in a different position than last time so that the 'ball' shape is maintained. Wrap it round the ball tightly, looping the rubber band if you have to.

there are several ways-

1- tie a knot out of a big fat rubber band and keep tying the ends together until it's like a little nugget and work from there

2- use an old fashioned metal jack (the kind you pick up when you bounce the rubber ball) to wrap the first bands around

3- use a small rubber ball.

Good luck!

Start w/ a firm round object (small) and add one rubber band at a time w/ an even direction keeping that ball like roundness.

Rubberband balls have a cardboard ball in the middle.

I've always started mine by looping an elastic band several times around another elastic band that's all bent up. Piece of cake.
