Ultrasound at 17 wks 5 days. This is our 2nd child-1st child is a boy. The doctor (not ultrasound tech) at place specializing in GENETIC screenings said "It's another boy!" Of course I was a bit disappointed because I really was hoping for a girl this time. 1st son will be 19 mths when this one is born. I had dreams from before I found out I was even pregnant that I was going to have a girl, but first had to lose my two front teeth to get her! Pregnancy dreams can be weird! Other dreams since I found out I was pregnant have also ALL been about having a GIRL! I even woke up with a strange "knowing". So when he said "another boy!" it just didn't feel right, but I was okay and accepting of it. I adore my son! Then, I got out my 1st son's ultrasound photo & compared the two (same angles). They don't look even close! This 2nd child's looks more like a girl's ultrasound (same angle) I downloaded from the internet! (MUCH shorter "down there") Could it possibly be a girl? Or am I just crazy?!

The u/s photo shows 3 lines, with the middle "line" not looking like it's connected to anything and being shorter than the other two outer lines, if this makes any sense. Trust me, though I'd like a girl, I seriously am okay and excited about another boy as well! I feel truly blessed either way! Something just doesn't seem "right" though...

I can't find the cable to my scanner since our move so I can download the photo, but I will try to get one tomorrow if you'd like to check back then! Thanks for all your help!

Ultrasounds to dertime the gender is not 100%. Some may say girl and you get a boy and vise-versa.

Now the secret of telling a boy from a girl is:

The boy's gentitals look like a hot dog.

The girl's gentitals look like a hamburger.

These can sometimes look the the same. The ultrasound technicians are trained to know what to look for, but that is not the point of the u/s.

The main reason you have an u/s, is to see how the baby is developing, if there are any deformities, and to compare the size with you LMP. The u/s catches some problems before birth.

Hope your u/s is wrong and you do have a girl!

LOL!! I see what u recommend. My adventure became easily the alternative. i became instructed by using my well being practitioner i became having a boy. My mom did the comparable ingredient. Went loopy buying all varieties of boy stuff. proper to the time i became 6 a million/2 to 7 months I have been given this overwhelming feeling i became no longer having a boy. i did no longer pick to pay for an ultrasound so ( i understand this became undesirable) I stated as my interior of reach well being facility and lied. I suggested i became putting some drapes and that i fell. that they had me rush to the well being facility to envision me out and that i've got been given a unfastened ultrasound. It became there the place they shown my ideas. i became having a woman. photos, somewhat ultrasounds could be very deceiving. in case you pick to get yet another test in keeping with risk or no longer it somewhat is a sturdy thought to attend somewhat longer until the toddler is a little extra stepped forward.

Whenever you have any medical help it is important to remember that doctors are human too, they can often make mistakes. However it is possible that you soo badly want a girl that you are fooling yourself into believing it is a girl. I did that with my second child, I was wrong. If you feel stronly about it decorate the nursery in a nutral theme and buy at least one little girl outfit to go home in. But try not to be disappointed if it is a boy.

Its pretty early to be predicting a gender. Usually at 20 weeks you can tell, but even then its hard. Good luck, and I'll cross my fingers for you that you have a beautiful baby girl!

Though doctors and techs often make mistakes with girls (they are sometimes "shy" boys) it is rare for them to make a mistake the other way around. It is conceivable though. (Pardon the pun!)
