clubbing? what? bar hoping? most of us locals just bar hop and you do that mainly in soma or the mission. could hit up the chinanical..oh i mean financial district.
somas your best bet-haight perhaps? again what you looking to do? dance? hang out and get drunk?

Since your name sounds female, bear in mind that San Francisco has a huge gay population - perhaps as high as 25% of all men there. If you are a straight woman, you might have a more difficult time finding a straight guy in S.F. than you would in most cities.

My favorite places were in the the Marina & Mission. It just depends what you are into, but trust me you will not have to go far...damn I need to move back!!!
here's a few suggestions!!
Hip hop / top 40 - Gravity in the marina or Blondies / elbo Room in mission
Jazz - Razelas or Boom Boom room - in the filmore
Rock.. any where in the city!!
Tourist traps...north beach!!
Cool yuppy bars...Amante 5 pm friday...toons of eye candy!!
