"Pouring" can be a DIY or have a service come and pour after you've framed an area, or have a contractor do the entire job.

The process is basically the same in that you have to frame/form an area, and pour, then possible float, smooth, texture, cut expansion lines.

Are there code issues to be concerned with? Weather issues? Is this a DIY? Is it for a patio, house or out building slab? footers for a wall or foundation?

start first by determing where you want to put the concrete then build a frame around three sides that way you can get a bobscat in to grade the area level next put in rock about 1 to 2 inches thick then close the side that you brought the bobcat into next measure the spot that you just laid out and make sure it is level unless you are poring next to your house if you are pouring next to your house make sure that the house side is about a quater bubble thicker then the other side when you have it measured call a concrete company and tell them your measurements and they will tell you how much concrete you need order it and then when it comes smooth it out with a straight bord called a straight edge and then take a stiff bristle brush with a long handel and broom finish stay off of it for atleast 2 days to let the concrete cure then take your garden hose and spray it off when it is good and dry go to your local hardware store and buy some concrete seeler can use thompson sealer but not as strong as concrete sealer then enjoy your hard work you may also want to drive threw new subdivisions and ask any of the concrete workers in their if they want to do a side job good luck

I have had experience in laying concrete, but you need to give some more details.

Is it for a base for a shed outside, footpath, carport or a driveway?

Is the concrete going to be a simple square shape or have curves. Because you will need different type of form work to do curves. For example an oval shape entertaining area outside.
