Harald Schumacher's tackle on an opponent in the 1982 World Cup. He got away with murder that time. It has got to go down as one of the worst tackles ever made in World Cup history.
Then there's Roy Keane's revenge tackle on Norwegian Alf Inge Haaland. The tackle effectively ended Haaland's professional career.

cantonas flying kick takes some beating so does roy keanes stamp on that icelandic player (his name escapes me for the moment)-i saw a few years ago on a latin-american football channel an opponont who felt he was heavily fouled went into the dressing room got a gun walked onto the pitch and shot the player concerned-i think he survived tho-lee boywer did quite a nasty stamp on a players chest a couple of seasons ago as well.
