it's in there under rotation

It's going to need a professional clean. It might be dead altogether and cost more to fix than a new one. If it were mine I wouldn't even think about paying for a repair I'd get a new one. However I might be tempted to have a go myself. Pull it all apart (you can leave the screen). Take the mother board out and put it into an ultrasonic cleaning bath with some detergent. Follow this with new baths of distilled water until it is clean and well rinsed. Do the same with all the other modules in their - keyboard, wireless module, etc. Clean all the plugs with IPA on cotton buds. Then put everything into the airing cupboard with a desiccant. It might work again when it's reassembled. If it doesn't it was worth trying. Get a laptop with the same make and model as the one you have so if you break the screen or something you will have a spare. Sorry, not a lot to advise really. The sugars and acid will have caused permanent damage to the circuit boards.

I recently tried https://reimagefix.im mentioned by that Sanjay poster on here and it totally fixed my problem! I was having many kinds of issues that were completely irritating my family to death. This pc had viruses, spyware, error messages, hardware problems, and the computer would often crash or completely freeze on me. I think the worst thing to me was how SLOW and laggy it became. So just when I was about to wash my hands with it, and waste money on a new computer...I find this. Awesome stuff!

Maybe you have a Tablet, and you don't even know it. Try closing the laptop and opening it again. Press the button your girlfriend was pressing and see what happens. If worst comes to worst, then call up the company! Other than that, your eyeball must be inverted. (Just kidding)

look on you laptop for the function button
its marked in a different color and has the letters fn on it...
now look on your keyboard for a button that shows a screen with arrows on it... or just try every button that is the same color as the fn button until the screen changes...
next pop you gf on the hand and tell her to keep away from your s*h*I*T
