2x + 2y + 2b^2 - 4b^3 = 0

2( x + y + b^2 - 2b^3) = 0

divide by 2

x + y + b^2 - 2b^3 = 0

x + y + b^2(1 - 2b) = 0

If the problem is 2x+2y+2b^2-4b^3=0....
you could reduce it to x+y+b^2-2b^3=0 by dividing by 2 and then rearrange it to -2b^3+b^2+x+y=0

after that I'm lost.... sorry, it's been too long since algebra class.
