To my knowledge, three countries are very active in this trade - India, the Netherlands (Holland) and US. While a lot of basic work is done in India in its western part (states of Gujarat and Rajasthan) while Holland is a huge trading hub internationally. US (New York) has both trading and workmanship facilities. Holland outnumber rest of the countries so far as polished diamonds business is concerned.
