My sister did not start her menstrual period until she was 18. She also was very small stature, small frame and was very slim. My mon was worried that something was wrong and took her to the OB/GYN. The doctor told her that everything was normal, but because of her small size, it was not uncommon, and often girls who are very small or thin do not menstruate until they have reached over 100 pounds. This situation is very common with athletic girls who compete in gymnastics for the very same reason. The best thing to do is to see the doctor and check to see if everything is normal, and wait it out.

Then she needs to go see an OBGYN.
This is delayed puberty.
Defined as no period before the age of 16.

She may not be developed enough yet to have one, since you mentioned she was small for her age. Though she may start at anytime, it is time to see a gyn. They can give her a exam and tell if there is something more going on.

That is not normal. normal is preteen years. She really needs to have blood work done to see what is going on. Is there a history of an eating disorder? Testing should of been done along time ago.

everybodys body is differnt and all women get their periods at different times. if you want to know when she should get hers find out when her mom or sister[if she has any] got theirs. if her mom or sisters got theirs when they were younger you should ask a doctor why she hasnt gotten her period yet. girls start their periods from as early as 9 to as late as 20. i know a girl whose sister didnt get hers until she was 19 and shes perfectly normal

This is abnormal. You could have a hormonal problem, or may not have developed normal internally. If you are very athletic that could also be a reason.
