Well this may not be completely plausible.... but if you're really looking for a great sound that's truly your own (and for a decent price too) try taking all of the electronics out of your squire and putting in your own custom circuit. You can go to any decent guitar store and tell them the sound you want and get a recommendation for pickups... try them out and see what you like. If you do this, I'd also recommend new pots and a new switch, the stock parts for squires are awful. Wiring the guitar takes some soldering ability, and a willingness to research wiring schematics online (every major guitar company and pickup company posts several wiring options, and a google search will turn up still more). However, if you have the interest and the time, it is a great thing to do. It is also far cheaper than buying a $1000 dollar les paul. I put two humbuckers and a single coil pickup in my old squire, plus new pots, a new switch, a new input jack, and a new pickguard, and the total cost was around $300. It very quickly became my guitar of choice... new electronics can make a squire sound phenomenal, as good or better than many very expensive factory-made guitars. So, if you have the time and the motivation its a great way to get a unique and very personal sound.

Telecasters are a nice versatile guitar. Depends on what you want to spend. American made teles and strats are going to cost a bit. Same with Japanese. There are some good sounding Mexican made ones. I have a Nashville Deluxe tele that I play through a Fender Performer 1000 hybrid amp.

I suggest an ESP. Even though it's promoted as a metal guitar, it's ok even if u play other forms of music. The build and playability of their guitars are awesome. Its' sound is really wicked too.

Take music lessons. Can you read music? A musician can play any instrument if it is not broke!
And before you make the claim of being able to play, Play to an audience and tell them about your female companion with your music. No words. See if your playing will talk to them about her!
Can't do that, you do not need a new instrument, you need practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
