HOW LONG till WHITE AMERICANS are a MINORITY?

I've heard estimates that claim White Americans will be a minority by 2050.

Is this accurate or will it happen sooner?

By 2050, whites will no longer be the majority in America, but will still be the largest group. As many as 1/4 to 1/3 Americans will be Latino or Hispanic (basically a double from the current 15%), 12% will be Asian (more than twice as many as the current 5%), African Americans will grow slightly, to about 15%. Obviously, multiracial people will also be a more common sight. Even in white suburban areas, its not uncommon for multiracial children to be the largest 'minority'. Native Americans will likely be the only group to decrease in size.

This is assuming birth rates and immigration trends do not change tremendously. Latinos will be such a large group because of their high birth rates and high immigration rates. Even though there are issues now, they will easily assimilate and likely become a large conservative base because of their values. Asian population will also grow at an incredible rate largely because of immigration. Already Asians lead all groups in college education and median annual income. They really are the 'model minority' because of their relative ease in assimilation and true passion for work and education. Because very few immigrants are black, their population will not grow as much, depending highly on their birth rates.

Where I live, Bellevue, Washington, a large Seattle suburb, has always been considered a cultureless upperclass white city. However, just in the past few years it has become the most diverse city in Washington state, the highest immigrant population (over 1/3), the highest Asian american population (over 25%), and exploding Mexican, Russian and Indian populations. It just goes to show how fast anyplace in America can change as times change. I wish people could see this city, how well it functions and how it continues to prosper with all of this diversity. It really is a good thing.

Well, Americans are a minority within the world. Certainly, now you mean the "white" race. Yes, it looks like they are getting darker and darker. I heard it would be about 25-35. Us blonds and blue eyes are on the way out. Men keep marrying other dark skinned women and the waver of the future will be darker skinned people not just in the USA but the world.

Certainly will be interesting to see a world with such little variety. Oh, well so all GOOD things come to an end. Right

Depends where you live because some areas of the country are dominated by white people but some areas...white people ARE the minority. I'm not being racist or anything but its a fact.

I don't know if by 2050 white Americans will be minorities. If immigrants [ legal and illegal ] continue to enter this country..than probably so.

Not sure. I am white, but, I am Dutch-American, we already a minority, but, not get recognized for it, that how Minor my minority is. I always thought most white people were of other Nationalities like the Afro-Americans and Hispanic-Americans. So, actually the White people are the minorities, just depends where your descendants came from. Germany, France, Poland etc.

if pc wasp americans don't protect our border and stop being so afraid to be un pc, then it will be sooner than you think, there were 150K no mex who snuck through the border last year alone, so we have the terror element also. but you know that mex and black are only 12% of pop now, ruoghly a quarter of the pop. they expect the mex pop to more than triple in the up coming years, so do you know what that means for all you black folk? you will still be at the bottom, but this time it will be worse cause they are taking all the min wage jobs that were once mainly black. did you know our salaries should be 8% higher than what it is now? thats due to illegals already. can you imagine in 20 years? mexico is sending all their undesirables to the usa, and we are sucking up the bill. does anyone know what that means for our social security when we get of age? thats right, it will be going to the illegal with ten kids who got here last year that never contributed a dime. think about it. mexicans arnt bad, but we need legal mex's to return that money to the system. and ont listen to that bs bout them contributing to the economy, it all goes to local biz that is mostly illegal owned anyway and never contributes to the big pic. you people need to wake up. look at the indians, most people think they were all killed, but the truth is that they were breed out of existance once they assemalated with whites and blacks, and our two races sucked them in. it will be that way with t blacks and mex, they are going to breed themselves out of existance.

White Americans are already a minority in some state such as California and Texas. Why,,,, does this bother you? Or is this just s general question? :)

Your all wrong. Just saw a special on TV that states blacks make up 13% of the population in US. I think Hispanics are more than that but not much.
