A very special person to me said some awful things to me, things I probably shouldn't forgive, I told him I'd never forgive him but the truth is, that I do forgive him, is this weird? I haven't told him I forgive him, actually I haven't seen him in months, I think about him all the time though.

Whenever I know a friend of mine is going to be in the same place as him, i get them to check on him, ask him how he is, without mentioning me of course.

Love and forgiveness are 2 separate emotions.
Forgiveness is giving the problem back to the person it should be on and then never burdening yourself again.
Love is an emotion. I forgive my ex for all the things he has done to me over the years, but I no longer am in love with him.

Communication in any relationship whether it be lovers or just friends is the most important thing in life. If someone hurts you let them know, if you want to let them know you forgive them then do so. Forgiveness is a hard thing to give, but you can go through the rest of your life wondering if you don't.

Ask yourself - do I love this guy and why?. What in my heart made me forgive him but what in my head made me not tell him that I forgive him?. Think about the good and bad points about this person and decide if you really wanna contact him again. Go with what your heart tells you but make sure your head is in the right place as well. My ex boyfriend and my first love cheated on me and afterwards tried to make it my fault and said awful things to me. I forgave him and I think about him like every week or day! and this happend two years ago.
If they hurt you once its their fault, if they hurt you twice its yours.
Its not weird that you have forgiven him because hating takes too much effort. I too forgave my ex but I would never contact him or consider him a friend again. You sound like a strong person to be able to say to yourself that you forgive him but you owe him nothing and dont have to let him know that you do forgive him. For starters he should be asking for your forgiveness you shouldnt be offering it.

U have to separate love from forgiveness. If u can still love the person after he's hurt u, it's ok.

Forgiving is a part of life and it is a good and noble thing to do. If you forgive you forgive. I respect that.

I think you still love him, it's either that or you have a huge soft spot as far as forgiveness is concerned (that's a good thing)

No it doesn't necessarily mean you love him. You may, but it might just mean that you have moved past the hurt you felt at the time.

I think you just need to listen to your heart!I really don't think anyone else can tell you"how you feel"But if you're always checking him out,then yes!
