yes, Ronaldo has passed his prime. However, you can market Ronaldo more than Iaquinta. You ask someone in South America, Asia or Africa - and guaranteed they know Ronaldo. Iaquinta? i don't even think most italians know how to spell his name.
Therefore, you can make money off of someone who is popular and marketable. Milan doesn't absolutely need another striker, but the money (sales from Ronaldo souvenirs, marketing his name/figure, sponsors) that is more appealing than Iaquinta.
