Can you get tracked by the service providers who are out on the search for P2P file sharing?

they can track your ISP address yes. but not your real IP address. They typically send an email to your ISP, then the ISP tracks your particular IP address down.

I'm wondering the same thing. Mostly I've just stuck to anime because Hollywood wouldn't care about that really, but I'm kinda afriad to download anything American. But I haven't been in any trouble with it so far, and I've been using it for a while now.

If you are referring to the MPAA/RIAA, they track you by your uploads and get your IP address from that. When they get your IP address, they will go to your internet provider to find out who you are.

yeah the isps' dont track you unless someone else squeals because you pay them ....look into peerguardian and blocklist manager ...
