i am considering attaching a copy the cover of my book on the outside of the envelope i will send to the publisher. what do you think?

i dont know alot of abuo tthis business but iknwo about profesionalism and it looks cheesy and maybe a lil desperate its only my opinion and i am no tyrying to make fun of u in any way hun :)

No, if they publish it, they will do a cover with their own art department. You will actually hurt your chances if you do it. Follow their particular procedures exactly - publishers are not impressed by untried writers who think outside the box.

That stuff is okay for published authors. I know, I know, it isn't fair.

Here's a little story. I had my first novel professionally edited. His instructions were don't do this, can't do that, don't start a sentence with this. I picked up a mass market romance novel by a well-known author and found all the editor's "don't do's" in the first 6 pages. Unfair, but very true.

I think it is a great idea. If you have a great design on the cover it's a good way to get someones attention. I love books and when i don't know the author i look at the title and the design first.

Very unprofessional! This will only mark you as an inexperienced author. A good cover letter will get you noticed.

I honestly think its not a good idea...could get lost and torn off

Its your choice though, if you think it'll grab the reader's attention go for it

hmm...only if it is not required to submit a copy of the cover, don't do it.
