I prefer classic rock. But I do like some rap. If it has a good beat then there is no reason not to like certain songs just because you don't like the genre of rap. I hate country music but I do like a few country songs.

b/c that is why songs are popular with the general public, even if they aren't good songs, you still sing along b/c they are annoyingly catchy, take for instance the song that never ends, not a good song, but once you hear it, there's no return!

probalby because of environment. If you don't like it and it is all around you, you will find yourself listening anyway...
If you honestly don't like it, then put only what you like in your space(s) (car, home, office...)
