I have a tiny black mole on my cheekbone. Whether or not it's a beauty mark, I think it looks ugly. Is there a way to remove it?

It's not cancerous or anything, its just a beauty mark.

Your doc shoud be able to remove that. I had one on my leg removed a few years ago. All she did was just freeze the area, and then but it out. A few dissolving stitches, and viola! No more mole. It only take a few minutes, but if it's considered cosmetic, your insurance might not cover it, so check that out beforehand. But it's a quick and pretty painless procedure, and well worth it if it really bugs you. But I don't think there's an at home way to remove a mole.

Yep. Go and see a surgeon ( most family docs can do this). What they do is they numb the area of the mole with injection of Marcaine or other numbing agent usually ( this is the most painful, burning feel, but goes away in seconds) Then they will cut it out,;depending on the size of the mole, they will use either a CO2 laser to ablate it (leave a light dissapearing scar) or use some stitches to close the skin back up. After wards it will take a few days and you have no more mole. :) It only takes a few minutes and is painless after the numbing part!!! They usually sent the removed mole for a pathologist to make sure it is not cancerous. this is just a pre caution, more than likely it is not cancerous. If you deside againt removing it, please keep an eye on it for change in size and appearance. If it gets bigger go and see a doc. :) Good luck.

Treatment
If your doctor takes a tissue sample of the mole and finds it to be cancerous, the entire mole and a margin of normal tissue around it needs to be removed. Usually a mole that has been removed won't reappear. If it does, see your doctor promptly.

Treatment of most moles usually isn't necessary. For cosmetic reasons, a mole can be removed in several ways:

Shave excision. In this method, your doctor numbs the area around a mole and then uses a small blade to shave off the mole close to your skin.
Punch biopsy. Your doctor may remove a mole with a small incision or punch biopsy technique, which uses a small cookie-cutter-like device.
Excisional surgery. In this method, your doctor cuts out the mole and a surrounding margin of healthy skin.
These procedures are usually performed in the office of your doctor or dermatologist and take only a short time. Learn more at:

Removal Of Moles

The doctor may remove a mole by anesthetizing the area and cutting it off with a blade or with electric surgery. Sometimes the mole and its surrounding portion are removed totally from the body and the sample is sent to lab for examination. Moles can be removed for reasons such as suspected melanoma, cosmetic appearance, or plain nuisance.

Only a doctor should do that. You can cover it up with cover stick you can buy at any drug store.
