I'm in my first trimester and I swear, I need massive doses of Prozac. Since I can't take it, I don't know what else to do. Anyone else feel or ever felt like that during pregnancy? If so, what did you do besides taking meds (I won't take 'em with the pregnancy). I am utterly miserable and I'm making my family miserable too. It goes way beyond just being irritable.
p.s. I'm not normally on anti-depressants~ not that there's anything wrong with them. :) Right now, I think they're probably the most wonderful invention ever.

There are many studies that prove that regular exercise is as effective for depression as anti-depressants. I have three kids and know how hard it can be to exercise during your first trimester. It is important to remember that you may feel better after your hormones level out near your 4th month. However, I took anti-depressants with all three of my pregnancies and have three healthy children. I am also a family practice nurse and have been for 10 years and have never heard of a baby being harmed by the mother taking anti-depressants during pregnancy. There is the increased potential for colic after the baby is born due to withdrawls but that is the only side effect that i know of.

Yeah I feel you. Im pregnant now and I feel like I'm going crazy sometimes. Its normal alot of people are saying. But try and keep busy the best way u can. I try buying oils and candles and stuff to use while taking a hot bath. That seems to calm me down quite a bit. U should try that.

I wouldn't suggest taking anti-depressants... Just because someone else says that their children all came out healthly, doesn't mean that will be the case with you. And then you'll really be upset with urself if u r the cause of anything being wrong with ur child.

So just take it slow day to day, keep busy, try to relax urself in anyway u think is good for urself. How about asking for a good rub down and massage but ur lover. That may help as well =)
Just try to stay happy anyway u can. Hope this helps.

I was that way when I was pregoes... you should find an online counselor (or a local one) and ask them for suggestions of how to deal. I didn't and I was MISERABLE, my bf seriously couldn't stand being around me, which only made me feel worse. If nothing else, force yourself to feel better and just know that it's only hormones, once you pop that baby out you can either take something to balance your emotions or your body will even out on it's own. You can message me or email me for support. Or even just to complain, I completely understand.

I was nasty and horrible the first 13 weeks of my pregnancy, then it disappeared. You will get through it, remember your hormones are going CRAZY...don't fret it!! Try to relax and sleep. Take your vitamins and think about how amazing you will feel when you're holding that baby!!! You need to be positive!

I am currently 37 weeks and depressed all the time for no reason at all. If you keep yourself busy that sometimes works. But other then that it sucks I know!
