What smart remark can I say to my so called friend that has sponged off me many times, needing spare money for gas, a place to live for a few days etc. that is now dunning me for $50.00 I owe her?

Tell her that you hope the 50 she takes from you is worth the friendship she is about to lose. And mean it!

Give her the $50. back. Tell her about what you've done for her. But being a friend you wouldn't think of asking for the money(back). Then thank her for the idea. Now comes the hard part. If you still stay friends with her, Every time she needs or wants something charge her for it.

this is actually what I did, make an excel spread sheet with the label of what she owes you, the names of it, and the prices, and of course the total debt, then make a colum called deductions, and subtract what you owe her from it...then show it to her, and demand your money.
