I still don't think that he would have, really, wanted that to happen during his presidency.

Too much to deal with. He wouldn't have wanted to deal with the problems while he was busy ripping the country off.

He just took advantage of the situation afterward to get reelected by scaring us with terror and war , kinda the "you can't make it without me slogan."

His rhetoric caused the weapons contractors to push him into war with promises of under the counter payments. Just like they all get. You know they do.

It's the "Watergate Politicians Are All Lying To Us" syndrome.

Ever since Watergate, some people feel they can't believe anything that a President or any other public official says.

I think the real truth is somewhere in between gullibility and paranoia.

There are a great number of people with a great number of opinions and a great number of reasons that satisfy them that someone (it wouldn't necessarily have to be Pres. Bush) involved in US government may have had a hand in it. The only thing I can add to your rhetoric is to check back and see how many times Pres. Bush has used 9/11 in a speech to justify some of the less than thought out things that he's had a hand in or supported. He invokes the memory of that so called "terrorist attack" every time he thinks he's losing an argument regarding his "war on terror".

I personally think it's the "look what I did" syndrome. He barked so often and so loud about what he perceived as the failures of the previous administration without having anything of his own to hold up to the light of day that, according to some, he soon had to have something so he could say "look what I did". 9/11 provided that opportunity. Did he create it? Possibly. Is he using it by squeezing every last useful political drop out of it and basically shaming the names of all who suffered or were killed as a result, absolutely.

It all goes back to his grandfather who sold to the Nazis during WWII and his father who was "Head of the CIA" then "Vice President to Reagan" then "President" and then most likely the master manipulator of Dubya's bogus election to the presidency when there was a problem with vote counting (unheard of before then) in Florida were his "brother" was governor and the BS about WMD and all the "LIES" and corruption within his administration! Not to mention all their cronies in the "Big Oil Business" and the huge profits resulting from illegal contracts with "Haliburton" where Vice President Chaney was formerly CEO. That is why "Some" people think that the Bushies were behind 911. Did you watch "Fahrenheit 911" the movie by Michael Moore?

Don't you think that if the government was culpable of such an elaborate scheme as the attacks of 9/11, they would also be capable of silencing all the dissenters who are coming up with the theories? Since most of those accusations are popping up on the Internet, wouldn’t they be doing what the governments of China, Russia, Iran etc… are doing and filter what gets on the Internet, then track the origins of the attempted postings and go pay those guys a little visit.
Conspiracy theories are big business, they sell a lot of books and movies (the Michael Moore types of movies).

Don't you think that it was kind of conceinent that he was at a grade school in Florida at the time of the attack? Have you ever watched his video taped response to the attacks, how he just kind of nods his head both times, when he's told about the 1st plane and the 2nd plane, does that seem like a normal response to have?

Power is the most addictive thing on earth. Much more than any drug. Absolute power is the ultimate goal of very rich people. Why do you think multi-millionaires and billionaires run for office? Not only that, they can become even more rich.

My problem with this conspiracy theory is that one would have to assume that George Bush is such a venal piece of devilty that he would perpetrate a "Reichstag Fire" scenario in order to foist an American style of fascism to the detriment of the country.

he may be a lot of negative things, but that smacks of being a traitor
