Watching American media and learning what the phrases and expressions mean is the easiest way I can think of.. English isn't a difficult language to learn to function in. It's our use of metaphor and cliche that trips most people up. Most foreign actors like Jet Lee and Jean Reneau learned to speak english by watching American Movies.

I used to teach English in South Korea. I really think tapes are good. You can play a tape while you're doing something else, and if you only pay attention some of the time, that's OK. You can play the same tape as many times as you want.

Since English is a complicated language, translators on the internet are NOT the best way to learn. Conversational English would be the best way to learn, and accept correction as you go along. Read lots, and ask questions.

Practice with native or fluent speakers. Your biggest difficulty will be the fact that we conjugate our verbs. Example: she speaks english (present) she spoke English (past) Her speech will be spoken in English (future). You will see this in writing where the verb must be specific as to what is happening, what has happened and what will happen. English is a difficult language to learn because our language is not as specific as others in conveying what we are trying to say.

you shouldnt want to get rid of a accent theyre a big part of who you are and you should be proud of yourself but if you really want to speak english good you should talk more to people repeat what people say in tv or music its very important to to imerse yourself or you could go to google and find a program to get rid of your accent but once again unless your accent is really thick i dont think you should be to woried about your accent

Most book stores sell books that come with cassett tapes or CD's that help you learn the language. Check it out :-)
