Salems Lot! I'm from a small town just like the one in Salems Lot, and there were a few houses in the area that reminded me of the house in the movie. When I was small, my bed faced the window and I use to have nightmares about the boy scratching on the window, like he did at the hospital. That movie still gives me the willies.

I love scary movies. Which ones? The Shining, The Others (not too scary), Psycho (of course), The Sixth Sense. I could list many more but not easily. I don't remember a lot of them and don't see them very often.
I'm sure that I'm not listing the scariest ones around, but I enjoy them anyway. I don't like the ones where there is a lot of gruesome stuff and people getting needlessly killed. I lean towards the monster stuff as opposed to crazy people. (Psycho not withstanding.)
Oh, just thought of a great one with Johnny Depp: Secret Window. But I won't give anything away here, just see it if you haven't, you might be surprised.
Those movies scare me. If you let yourself really get into the movie, as if it's happening to you, you should be scared. Think about it: If it was actually happening to you in real life, wouldn't you be scared?
I like Medium on TV, check it out sometime.

I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVE HORROR FILMS!!
you don't want to get me started on my favorite scary movies.
i love hellraisers and nightmare on elm street.
i remember as a little girl watching a nightmare on elm street 2 and getting the pee scared out of me. that was the only time freddy ever scared me. there was something about him ripping out of the poor teenager and the whole school bus teetering on that rock. freakeeey(think napoleon dynamite)!!!
i couldn't ride the school bus for quite awhile....
hellraiser just freaked me out because of frank with no skin and the real maggots. it was the very first film that ever used real maggots. pinhead didn't really scary me. it was always frank. that man was creepy.
for some reason the grudge freaked me out to a certain extent.
the remake of dawn of the dead really did it. i remember walking out of the movie theater and everything was dark and quiet. we caught the late show. also, this theater is behind the mall. so i have an overactive imagination. i thought i was gonna have to make a run for the mall....
nowadays, it is very hard for me to find any great horror movies. i love to be scared. safely of coarse. if a movie can freak the crap out of me then I'M IN LOVE!!!!
here are a few more of my favorites:
jeepers creepers 1&2
the howling
night of the living dead(original and remake)
return of the living dead 1&2
all the howlings except #7
american werewolf in london
bad moon
pumpkinhead
the monster squad
phantasm 2, the tall man is so cool!!!
the grudge
the ring
night of the willies
army of darkness
killer klowns from outerspace
resident evil 1&2
shaun of the dead
scary movie 1&2
dracula: dead and loving it!!
i know a lot of people don't like the blair witch project, but i fell in love with it.

Yes.
The Ring really scared me the first time I saw it. I can't think of any other movie that really had the same effect that that one did. I only got 3 hours of sleep, and when I woke up and remembered the part where Samara was walking when she came out of the well, I thought I had dreamed it because I couldn't believe that the movie was so scary. That's how scared I was.

Personally, I don't like scary movies because they leave me with an uneasy, unsettled feeling.
The first poltergeist movie where JoBeth Williams was slipping into the muddy swimming pool and the bodies were coming out of their coffins and popping up right in her face. Some were half rotted, and still wearing pearl necklaces, etc. The movie itself wasn't that scary, but that scene definitely was disturbing.
Well, I answered both questions, but you didn't say I had to agree with you. :)

I LOVE scarey movies
Poltergheist 3 still gets me!
I love watching scarey movies, and for 3 months I had to challengemy friends to get a movie that would make me cringe or jump.
HIGH Tension!
I am getting ready to see the first SAW. For the first time, I am actually scared of a movie before I watch it, lol. I hope it is good.

I love horror movies. Forget about these new movies-Night of the Living Dead. Hell yeah it scared me, and it ended on such a downer. Awesome movie. Honorable Mention-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(the original, we don't like to talk about the sequels and the remake). New horror movies are way too gory. The Hills Have Eyes was gory, but it was disturbing enough to still be good.

I love scary movies! But they don't seem to scare me like they used too. I did like Silent Hill but it was more creepy than scary.
I like the kind of scary movies that can really happen, like Wrong turn and Texas Chainsaw Massacre(the original). Those two I had to be walked out to my car.
