Do I have to be a pro? I've never played tennis before. Do you think they'll give me time to get the grasp of tennis? I think the next match is on sept 6. Oh well, if I can't get in this year then I'll try the next.

PS: But I always wanted to play this though. It doesn't look that complicated. Is it as easy as Badminton?

You dont need to be a pro at college level but you must be at least an intermediate player. If the next match is on 6 sept i dont think you will be selected for your college team. You will need at least 2 to 3 years to play well and provided you have good ball sense. If you like tennis please take up this sport, i have played many sports like soccer, basketball, badminton and many others i still like tennis the most. Its not as easy as badminton cos its has more variety to the strokes than badminton, beside the forehand and backhand like badminton it has volley, slice, topspin and so on. it is definitely more complicated than you think. Anyway, try out the game i belive you will like it, love tennis, cheers!

No you do not have to be a pro it is actually the opposite. Find out when tryouts are and go.
