I think you are confused over what child support is. Child support is paid by parents of children that live somewhere else, usually with the other parent. The amount is based on how many children in the family and how much money is made by each parent. They figure in medical and the general care of the child.

Everyone is free to work out their own plan if it is agreeable to both parents and the friend of the court system.

Yes. I receive child support. After my divorce there would have been times that either a bill wouldn't have been paid (and all my bills were utilities, no credit cards) or we wouldn't have eaten.

My financial situation is better now, but my daughter still benefits from her child support. I use it for her school lunches during the school year. This summer she got some horse riding lessons from it. I put the rest of it in savings for her for college or anything special that might come up. She auditioned for drummer in the school band and got a position. I purchased her drum with some of the savings.

I raise a grandson that I receive 10 dollars a week for, do you think that helps me?? I feel that is a slap in the face. But if you get a fair amount of course it helps. It can help with daycare, food, housing, clothing, whatever is needed. My question is, are you supposed to be paying and don't want to????

Hell no! My husband's Ex drinks up all her money, refuses to work and doesn't pay for any of her son's clothes, vacations or activities, except for about 1 sweater a year

it depends on how much youre getting - Im one of 4 children whose mother has just divorced & my father only pays $520 bi-weekly. However Ive seen other ppl with one or two kids who get well over $1000 bi weekly. My mother is also unable to work. So it can be very unfair.
