...what would you do? How would you go about living?

You live every minute you are given with a new appreciation for the miracle of life...We all have an unknown length of time to live, whether or not some doctor(s) have pronounced you "terminal".
I used to think that a terminal disorder meant you were hanging out at Greyhound bus stations too much! Almost 14 years ago, at age 32, doctors told me I had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), a paralyzing neurological disorder with no known cause or treatment. ALS has an average life expentancy until death of 3-5 years. The day before we got the bad knews, my wife and I found out that she was pregnant with twins. I lived on hope that I could somehow beat the odds and see my sons grow up. My fears only clouded my ability to live fully in the present moment, so I made a deal with myself to "live without fear of dying and concentrate on what it means to be alive!" I have had friends die from heart attacks, and car accidents over the years. I have had several of my doctors die as well (No, I did'nt do them in)...What I'm trying to tell you is we all suffer from a terminal "disease"...it's
called "life". You play the cards you are dealt and try to stay in the game as long as you can (...it's called the survival instinct!)
Doctors are not gods and they can be off by decades when they try to predict how long you have to live...Even if you could know when your last year, month, week, or day had arrived- would'nt be a waste to spend it whining about it, rather than living each moment you have left. I can't run or even walk, I use a power wheelchair, but I don't feel sorry myself, because today I am alive.

I would make sure that I tell my family how much I appreciate them. I already do that but I would really want them to know how I feel about them. I would try to live life to the fullest (I should be doing that now lol)

First I would decide what things had to get in order... finances, medical attention, work issues, paperwork, wills - then I would try to see how long I could not work and still enjoy life... self support myself... I could say I would travel - but I would not be able to quit work to travel and lose all my medical benefits.....

Try to right whatever wrongs I still could. Maybe even forgive those who have wronged me.

I think at first I'd be devastated and not do anything at all. I really don't know what I'd do, I don't even want to think about it.
