I was working for an organization where we used to help the poor...no matter how much we tried...it was never enough...

the magnitude of the problem is so huge that our efforts were never enough...

we could hardly do much...but even then people used to bless us...though I dont believe in any god religiously...everytime they blessed me they gave me so much more than what I tried doing for them...

I remember an incident...

I was sent to a certain city in India, for learning some audio modules as part of my media training...

It was night and I was going through a market getting back to my room...the market was crowded....

and there was a very young boy who was running around and crying bitterly....there were hundreds of people on the street, nobody gave a damn...

I stopped him and asked what was wrong, he said his mom was ill and he didnt have any money....he wanted some money for his mother...

I gave him as much as I could and bought him some food...the boy was about 5 yrs old...

and he blessed me...he said may god take good care of you...

to hear that from someone so young...that feeling was very gratifying...

thanks for your question...you reminded me of one of the most beautiful moments of my life:)

The most gratifying thing that i have ever done was hold my grandchild for the first time, and realize that my life was not coming to a close, that in actuality it had just really started.

The most gratifying thing I ever done in my lfe is to make someone happy up to the extend that their tears of joy flows out from their eyes and the impact of the memories that they will ever treasure in their life.

I guess getting saved would be my spiritual answer, but other than that I don't think I've done anything really gratifying... maybe I should do something about that.

Raise two children to become happy and productive adults. Lots of tears, laughter, pain and joy all built into one very gratifying experience.

I feel good when i click pictures of young kids and show it back to them. There expressions are worth a million and there smile - Priceless.

It may not sound as noble or as fabulous as charity and blood donations but then i do feel equally good

well this one time , when i was in post secondary, i had like no money and was basiclly living off my credit card, i was on my way home from school and i saw this guy with a dag standing on the steet , with a dog, he had no food or money, and had a sign that said dont feed me , feed my dog, i had three dogs myself living with my parents at the time, ( cuz i could'nt afford to feed them) and i was so saddened by this, he wanted to feed his dog more than himself, so i went to a fast food restaraunt and got him a couple burgersa dn fries and a dring, then went to a gracery store and got a bad off dog food, went back to the guy and gave him what i bought, he started to cry, and thanked me imensly then ran off the the side of the steet9 he was standing in the middle meridian, and started to eat and feed his dog, it was an amazing feeling to have helpped this guy and his dog, even though i was broke. i mean there could have been more amazing things that could have been done, but it did feel good.

This may seem a bit shallow, but it felt so damn GR8! I was about 16, my step dad LOVED to call me names and call me FAT! (Looking at myself now, I should not have listened to him!!) Anyhow... I lost a lot of weight - About 10 kilo grams and weighed about 60 kg's - I just got off the scale when he said: "Who would want to look at you? Your are so fat" and I turned around and laughed in his face!!! I can still remember the look of complete dumbfoundednes on his smug face...
