1. since 3n and 4n are "like terms - the power of n is the same", we can add them together to get:
3n + 4n = 63
7n = 63
now since n is multiplied by 7, and we need to remove it, we divide both sides by 7
7n/7 = 63/7
n=9,
(to check ur answer, place n = 9 in the original equation u will get
3*9 + 4*9 = 27 + 36 = 63 which is correct.)
2. -a + 5a = -52
add the like terms u get 4a = -52
then divide both sides by 4 u will get
4a/4 = -52/4
a= -13
(to check place a = -13 in the equation u get
-*-13 + 5*-13 =13 + -65 = -52 which is correct)
3. adding like terms on the left hand side gives
-2h + 9 = 37 (-2h and 9 cannot be added coz h is not common)
then furthest away from h is 9 so we remove that first, since it is added we will subtract it on both sides so we get
-2h + 9 - 9 = 37 -9
-2h = 28
now h is multiplied by -2 so we remove that, by dividing both sides by -2,
-2h/-2 = 28/-2 (since -2 cancels out on the left hand side we get
h = -14
(to check place h = -14 in the question we get
(6*-14) - (8*-14) + 9 = -84 - -112 + 9 = 37 which is correct)
4. -2x + 8x -3 = -45 (rearranging)
again add like terms
6x - 3 = -45
(since 3 is furtherst away and is subtracted we remove it first by adding 3 on both sides)
6x - 3 + 3 = -45 + 3
6x = -42
now divide both sides by 6, we get
x = -7
(check ur answer, (-2*-7) -3 + (8*-7) = 14 - 3 + -56 = -45)
5. Rearrange put like terms together:
8g - 5g + 4 = -5
3g + 4 = -5
(since 4 is furthest away from g we remove it by subtracting)
3g + 4 - 4 = -5 - 4
3g = -9
now divide both sides by 3 since g is multiplied by 3
3g/3 = -9/3
g = -3
(to check ur answer place g = -3 in the equation, we get,
(8*-3) + 4 - (5*-3) = -24 + 4 - -15 = -5)

It is interesting how you can use computers but cannot do simple math. Hopefully, you can learn from this.
1. 3n + 4n = (3+4)n = 7n = 63
2. -a + 5a = (-1+5)a = 4a = -52
3. 6h - 8h + 9 = (6-8)h + 9 = -2h + 9 = 37, -2h = 28
4. -2x - 3 + 8x = (-2+8)x - 3 = 6x - 3 = -45, 6x = -42
5. 8g + 4 - 5g = (8-5)g + 4 = 3g + 4 = -5, 3g = -9

1. 3n+4n = 63
7n = 63
n = 63 divided by 7 (bring 7 over from left to right)
n = 9
2. -a+5a = -52
4a = -52
a = -52 divided by 4
a = -13
3. 6h - 8h + 9 = 37
-2h + 9 = 37
-2h = 37 - 9 (bring +9 over to the right it becomes -9)
-2h = 28
h = 28 divided by -2
h = -14
4. -2x - 3 + 8x = -45
6x - 3 = -45
6x= -45 + 3
6x= -42
x= -42 divided by 6
x= -8
5. 8g + 4 - 5g = -5
3g + 4 = -5
3g = -5 - 4
3g = -9
g = -9 divided by 3
g = -3

Not many steps involved. Start out by combining like terms. Take #5, for example: 8g + 4 - 5g = 5. Comine like terms (the g's). (8g-5g)+4=5 or 3g-4=5. Now you need to get the variable (g) by itself on one side of the equation so you wanna get rid of the 4. You do that by adding 4 to each side, leaving 3g=9. So, 3 times
what =9? I'm going to assume you can multiply. :)
Good luck with algebra!!!

no need to show the steps, because there is only one
1. 3n + 4n = 63
(3+4)n = 63
7n=63
n=63/7
n=9
the rest is the same, learn the first one as i explained and try the others by urself.
