Sounds like Braxton-Hicks. Does your whole stomach just tighten up and get tense? Of course, you should always check things with the doctor, but this is what it sounds like to me.

It sounds like it is False contractions, or Braxton - Hicks contractions. In any case you should always follow up this question with your doctor as he is the one that is there and can help you the best.
It is about time for your delivery as it really can come anytime after 7.5 months. So don't worry but be concern and call your doctor for a consult.

contractions..braxton hicks..its normal..its just getting ur body prepared for whats to come. the more u dialate now, the less work it will seem to be when u are in active labor. get up and walk around. change postions lay down..u'll find something that works for u. those pains started for me at 6 months.

Please make sure you are getting plenty of fluids. So many women have problems because they are not drinking enough water or getting prenatals. Always consult your doctor for anything you have the slightest concern over.
That way they can monitor yours and your baby's progress better with each inquiry and each visit. Good Luck and congrats.

It sounds like false labor but if they are real contractions you could start to dialate w/them and not know so just ask at the next doc visit.
