you dial 1, then the area code, then there phone number.

u got 2 get the area code and put the area code first then u got 2 dial the rest of the number, i think u can only do that if u have a phone that lets u call long distance though!!!!!

Also, Yahoo gave me a great tip: "To lookup an area code, type in area code and city/state or number. e.g. 'area code austin tx' or 'area code 512'"

pick up the phone and dial 1 + area code + the number. 11 digits in all! If you can't do this than you should not be placing phone calls.
