Ok, it resembles paper currency, like a dollar bill. As far as I know it is real gold. It's about as thin as a dollar bill and in a plaque type case. Which I can remove it from but haven't yet.

It a souvenir.
The China '99 Kunming International Horticultural Exposition (Expo '99) opened with two events, both to the sound of large Meyer systems: the grand opening gala on the evening of April 30th in the 30,000-seat Tuodong Stadium in Kunming (capital of Yunnan Province), and on the day after at the official opening ceremony.

It's probably a trinket or token from a Expo in China from 1999...more than likely not real gold...just golden colored. I have something like that from "South of the Border" from South Carolina.

Sounds like gold foil. Which means it probably is 'real' gold...
but the value is not in the gold(foil can be really thin) BUT in the uniqueness as a souvenir(how many made and how many in your area available) and/or its beauty as 'art'... and ultimately what the next person would pay for it!

It sounds like a 1 oz gold piece (.999 pure). Does it have a Panda on it?

Is there any Chinese writing on it? I imagine that the Chinese government would insist on having Chinese writing on it if it's worth anything.

Is it made of gold, or is that just the color.
