What do you think about the Line 6 Spider II 30 for the price? It's only $160, and it SEEMS pretty nice... What do you think?

The spyder II is an excellent deal for someone who is somewhat unsure of where they're going with their playing. It has an obscene number of of built in effects that can make your guitar have almost any sound you can imagine, which is phenomenal for the price. However, none of these sounds are as good as you can get from an amp built to have one specific sound. They are only digital models of sounds that normally come from very specific circuitry and setups, and hence they will never come close to the real thing. So if you know what style of music you want to play, and what kind of tone you want, don't get anything by line 6... you'll just get a bundle of mediocre to decent effects you'll never use. However, if you want to experiment to find a sound you like, the spyder II is the best deal you'll find, and you'll have a blast playing with it.
Also, be warned, the 30 watt version is not powerful enough for any serious gigging, but if you're only looking for a practice amp its plenty big.

Well I guess it's alright, for $160, but if it's that low in price, you gotta wonder if it's good..
Try it out at a guitar store first and see if you like it.

thats quite a deal... you should take... my friend has that amp (well almost he has a spider II 60) and its sounds great
