you bet! not only that, they have different personalities in the different forums in which they participate, and different personalities in the different groups they face-to-face with.

We all represent ourselves the way we think others will like or respect us best, and we instinctively recognize that behavior that is admirable in one group is bad news in another.

Think of the language a teenager uses with her peers, compared with how she talks to her favorite grandma.

Some do, and some don't. I think that everyone on the internet comes across as at least a little different than they do in reality though.

Definitely. On here I'm a brainy stud,but offline I'm just a stud with brains.
One thing is for sure though,If some people were as rude and thoughtless in real life as they are online, they would be beaten senseless on a daily basis.

I have in the past. Since it's anonymous, you can act more wild than you really may want to be in real life. But not about something important like a relationship. Not me anyway, though I am sure other do.
