We're pretty quick to demote Pluto as a planet. Maybe Earth needs to be demoted also...at least until we stop destroying it.

There's nothing wrong with the planet; Earth is a perfectly fine planet. It's her inhabitants that have the problem. Maybe, we should reconsider if Earth truly does have intelligent life.
But, that's just my opinion.

Why do we call it "demotion?"
Is there some military-like rank of celestial bodies? It is just a classification. Pluto is not going to care, it has no feelings! If it did, though, I think it would want to be classified correctly, just like we would as people.

getting tired of people putting civilization DOWN cannot figure out why nature built such destructive creatures also wondering why dinosaur es came to be and go ? and why glaciers once covered much of the world... nature seems to keep messing up... probably should have gotten rid of nature in the first place so that this planet would be a giant hunk of rock. imagine that.. there would be no problems and no diseases.. no EARTH should not be demoted. GUESS YOU HAVE TO LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT..awful hard to do second without out polluting rockets

Aside from a few twits and nutters, Earth is a great planet. It's the most amazing planet we know. It's the true KING of planets, not in size, but in what it has to offer.
It is more likely that we will destroy ourselves first before we can destroy this planet.
