Ok, first of all, just calm down. Yeah, it's scary when you first get your period, but it's nothing to be worried about. My advice is, since you think you'll get your period right when school goes in, is to stick a pad and/or tampon in your bag or purse. Then you've got it. Then, I would suggest wearing a pantyliner at school until you get your period. It'll just keep it kinda neat down there, and will hold off on any major leaks untill you can get to a bathroom and properly protect yourself. Another good idea might be to wear black or really dark pants and maybe bring a sweater or something to tie around your waist in case you do leak. I know, that's a real fashion statment right there, huh? But it does help. If you're really worried about bleeding heavily, wear a pad. But don't wear a tampon until you actually have your period. Just too much risk. That's my advice, just don't freak out about it too much, it'll happen some day when you least want it too. It's just all part of growing up.

I always mark my calendar when I start my period. Once u mark it on ur calendar, count 4 weeks later and put a small check next to that week. When that week comes, wear a panty liner or a piece of tissue so that u'll be prepared when the period does come. I usually wear pads, so I always carry some around in my handbag when I go 2 school. U can do the same w/ tampons. U should know when ur period is going 2 start, unless ur very irregular. Go 2 the bathroom before u leave ur house and also take advantage of ur time @ lunch. Change ur tampon whenever u have a break. I only usually change it once when I'm at school. It's no big deal and it's just what every girl has 2 deal w.
As for the smell- the vagina should have a unique scent to it. If it smells fishy or has abnormal discharge, u could have a treatable bacteria infection. Check w/ ur doctor. If ur just concerned about the regular smell, try carrying some feminine wipes. U can find these in any drug store.

Well I always brought a spare tampon/pad or two in a purse or backpack when I was at school. It never hurts to just start wearing a pad/tampon around the time you think you will start just in case. Worse case scenario, if it leaks and get on your pants, I always kept a sweater in my locker that I could tie the arms around my waist untill I could get to the nurses office and phone home for a new set of pants. (or better yet just go home :) I know I'm not supposed to blab secrets but most teachers will let you go to the bathroom for period reasons. If it is a woman teacher I would just kinda whisper the reason for a bathroom pass and I've never had any problems. Frankly, I have managed to stear clear of guy teachers with that subject lol. As far as the smell, there are "feminine sprays" out there that you can use for odor. They are usually found wherever the pads/tampons are sold. Good luck in 8th grade :)

ok i know how you feel. but just calm down. i agree with everyone else. if your worried about it then wear a pad everyday til you get it. if you dont want to do that then try panty liners. when you do get it. then put a tampon in in the morning and change it before lunch and you should be fine for the day.
unless u get a real heavy flow which prolly wont happen cuz its only ur second time but unless ur flow is heavy u prolly wont leak. but just incase you do keep like an extra pair of sweat pants in ur locker and a tide to go pen to remove the stain.
as far as smelling always pads come with wipes on them now so that can help with cleanliness. they also have scented tampons. just remeber to change ur tampon/pad regularly and you shouldnt have a problem.
i dont really think any tampons are more comfortable then other just some applicators mite be more comfortable to insert or some have better protection. ask your mom which one she thinks will work better.
oh and relax! everything will be fine.

Well, before the start of class just let your teacher know that you are on your period so you may need to go to the restroom..Or put a tampon in during hall time...If you shower and use a tampon you shouldn't smell, just make sure you aren't leaving the tampon in for too long.. 3 hours at the most.. that will also help prevent odor....
And if you haven't started it yet..just wear a pantyliner..that way if you start it...it will go on the panty liner and when you get to the bathroom you can put a pad on or a tampon in...Wear a pantyliner.. When I was in 6th grade I started mine and didn't know it.. I had to go up to the board to write something and my teacher immediately brought me out into the hall and took me to the nurse.. she then explained to me that I had started my period and it was ALL over the back of my pants.. I didn't go back to school for a week..
So wear a pantyliner even if you arne't bleeding and make sure you change that too even if there isnt blood on it just to cut down on odor..

Okay, I just went through this with my sister-in-law. DON'T USE SUPER TAMPONS. I don't know why people say to do that. They're idiots! Use the slimist tampon that you can find if you are comfortable using tampons. I know some at this stage aren't. The larger that tampon the more prone you are to Toxic Shock Syndrom and yes it's real, also the larger you leave a tompon in the prone you are. Also, the larger ones are meant for girls with larger ***** and if you aren't that large it will get stuck, like my sister-in-law & you'll be calling somebody to help get it out, like her ; ) If you wear a tampon, you can wear a pantyliner also, which helps prevent leaks and gives you time to get to a bathroom.
If you prefer pads, get the ones with the wings to help prevent leaking. You do have to wear something during gym but it doesn't have to be a tampon.
Your teacher should be a little easier to give you a hall pass if you explain why. I would go up to the teacher before class startes if you think you might have to leave and let them know what's going on. Just remember that the female teachers went through that and hopefully remember, and the male teachers either are embarrassed to talk to you about it and will just let you go or are mature adult (like they should be) and understand.
You're grown now, don't worry about it or you'll stress. Also, talk to you mom or your father about it, which ever one you're more comfortable with.

I would use tampons all day in school not just for gym it will cut down on the smell for one and is more comfortable. You can also use panty liners as back up incase of a leak if u cant make it to the bathroom during class. Just make sure to go in between classes. If you believe your period will start when u start school wear the panty liners first and bring tampons in ur purse incase it does start while ur in school. Always be prepared

Your poor thing. first if you think you might be getting your period it can't hurt to were a pad all day every day. The worst thing your gonna do is waste a lot of them. i would pesonal rather waste a bag or two of pads then my favorite jeans. Also you do not have to wear a tampon. They are not recomended for younger woman especially if you have never had sex. It can be uncomfortable to insert them. Also when you do get your period again just change your pad as offten as you feel comfortable and use femininewhips that come in little packages they are kind of like baby wipes but are made for helping clean up down there. Good luck sweetie I remeber how crappy teachers in middle schooll can be.

Relax, relax...... It is not that big of a deal. Get some winged ultra thin panty liners to wear when you have your tampon in. That should take care of any messes.
Your period is going to smell funny. If it smells putrid go see a doctor, it might be an infection.
You can start to wear the thin winged panty liners on the first few days of school, and you will not get a mess in your pants. Problem solved.
