No. the more q's u ask, the more it makes people think.. which in turn causes enlightenment.. or more of a better way of looking at things. Thinking all in itself is a process that is meant to happen to better understand ourselves, others, and the world in which we live.... and how it all binds us all and connects us together...

when you say thought provoking,it in itself should answer you question.all the inventions and discoveries till date are the result f thought provoking questions.And in order to make a positive change in the society& in everyone's mind,the novel thoughts are really absolutely essential.thought provoking questions are a feature of a tactful and intelligent mind.So,i would say no its not wrong at all to ask thought provoking questions

you can ask thought provoking questions.
for your own good , see to it that they are not provocating questions. use your judgement.
there were a lot of people in history who made thought provoking questions. most ended up without growing up in to ripe old age.

I dont believe its wrong, unless you asked in a manner that maliciously misguide certain weakminded people.

All who ask such questions must be aware of their responsibility to the stability of the society. In simple words, be tactful and positive...
