like, girl friends would tell each other if they looked nice and stuff, but if boys did that it would be kinda gay... so how does a boy know if he's good looking or not? do boys only pretend not to know how to judge boy's looks? or do they only know if their girlfriend or grandmother tells them how handsome they are...?
so all the boys out there that think that they're good looking- how do you know?

The real question is, why do girls have to be "told" by others that they look nice, and guys can just look in the mirror and tell. Because girls care about what every one else thinks instead of using their own brains. I can be drop dead gorgeous or look like crap, depends on how I do hair, makeup clothes - and what personna I choose to put on today.

They don`t know until girls tell them.
It is true Boys don`t know a guy is good looking. Boys are always amazed at when they hear from girls that so and so guy is good looking.
Over time we can kind of learn what girls like. However we are never really sure. Of course there are the obvious uglys.
Mom and grandma always tell them they are handsome but they don`t believe it anymore after they get rejected by a few girls.

Trust me, a lot of the guys I go to school with are egotistical jerks who think they're all hot and everything and can have any girl they want. Some of the best-looking guys that I know don't know they're good-looking because nobody tells them. If you do tell them, they'll either totally dismiss it and say "You don't really mean that," or they'll get a swelled head. Not all the guys are like this, but a lot are.

You know when you see how she looks at you. If you get stares, not the "ewe, you're kinda gross" kind of stares, then that is one indicator. If girls give you that little twinkle in their eye when you look at them, that's another. It doesn't really matter what your momma thinks because you sure aren't dating her... not in my state anyway. But, still, your mom and your grandma are gonna tell you your are 'so handsome' anyway.
Just believe ... and rest assured, someone else will believe it too and you'll know when they look at you. There is this one girl right now, when I look at her, she says I glow. I can feel it. It's crazy, but to me, she is so beautiful and the way I feel about her is so strong, I just smile and smile for miles. When a girl looks at me like that, I know too. Doesn't matter what the Mirror Mirror says. It's all in the eyes.

I believe guys usually know when other guys are good looking but like you said it's not exactly a thing to say. There's probably not a pickier judge of looks then me, although I'm modest. It's something you should keep to yourself and for people to tell you.

Boys know they're good looking, when other boys (including men) wink at them very often and there is no baseball in sight. Now they know they are really good looking, when they stare in the mirror and see perfection staring back at them. Oh wait, that's women.

there is nothing *gay* about a guy telling another guy he looks good. Men and women dont know they are good looking because they are told by someone. Most guys I know that are good looking have no trouble knowing it and being very upfront about the fact that they are and they know it.

We don't need to tell each other. The girls will tell us how we are, but women will not tell us how we look. Instead they care more about our carreer, stability, goals, that is why men get fatter as we get older we stop caring about how we look. Instead we worry about our future, eat go to work, eat go to work, than drink on the weekend..the routine will get to all of us evtually.( I got carry away, but you did ask boys not men)

Do you think that he never looks in a mirror, besides the girls have already given him a clue, when they come in droves, it takes a boy longer to get ready for a date, than it does girls, unless he has no pride in himself

Usually you know if youre ugly-good hint if your dog is scared of you you should worry. If a girl has never given you a second glance go for surgery immediately.
