ok, lets look at it from my point of view:
You're 17 now
School starts either this month or next. you'll go for a few months, then turn 18. 3 months later its over. So why not wait 3 months. get your diploma so you dont have to accept ******* s.hitty pay which is what you'll get without any sort of degree, I know school sucks, but might as well stick it out, hell you've put 13 years into it

As soon as I seen this question, I didn't even need to read the details (although I did) to give you an answer. NO! You shouldn't drop out of highschool because years later you'll seriously regret it.
I have one year left too and you know what, I am SO SICK of school! But, I am not going to allow myself to be another statistic, a high schoo dropout, that goes nowhere in life.
We are the future generation and sometimes WE need to do the stuff that we DONT want to do. As much as school sucks and as much as I sometimes don't want to be there, I will get through this year and make something of myself. Besides, by January, you are almost finished school anyway. You shouldn't drop out with 5 months before you could walk down the aisle with your friends.
School is rough but it is giving you a FREE education that children in poor third-world countries would love to have.
Sometimes we need to learn to appreciate things in life that don't always seem that great. You have made it this far, don't slip up now, just finish the 12th grade. You don't HAVE to go to college, but I am asking that you at least finish the 12th grade so that when you're looking for a job you could say that you at least have a diploma.
Trust me, dropping out may seem like something you really want to do at the moment, but when you're older you will regret your choice and it will be too late to go back.
I am pretty positive that "Ask Abby" would agree with me on this one. Your education is more important than anything... we all wanna get out, so make what's best of your last year!

Hi I truly hope that you will consider this greatly before making your decision!
Why are you sick of school? Is it hard to go through the classes? Are you just bored? Oh, maybe you'd rather just hang out on the streets and drink alcohol and do drugs and smoke ciggys......? Ok seriously....insert stupid flash back music
When I was in high School, I hated it, as do lots of people. I wasn't very good at math or History or Geography...infact, my highlight was Chorus class....I fumbled my way through however and now my diploma sits on a shelf in my bedroom. Every once in awhile I think how good it was to finally throw away those stupid back packs and that damn notebook. I had accomplished what some of my other family had not, and boy did it feel good!
Don't drop out on a whim, Please! There are a shortage of intelligent people these days and if you drop out that might be one less person to carry on the intelligence gene. I skipped that biology class but I'm sure its in there somewhere....perhaps your regular high school isn't the thing, but come on, you'll be 18 in January, that means what, you'll graduate in 5 months after that? Are you afraid you'll look dorky in those stupid hats? Ok if that didn't convince you, here's another shot: Try night shcool get your G.E.D. anything to show your future employer some educational background. Most places say "must have High School Diploma or equivalant" Where I come from, that does include working at Mccy D's...what do you want to do for a job/Career where you don't need a Diploma for? Or maybe you should just stick it out this school year and say to yourself, hey I accomplished something!

Don't you should get at least complete high school. You won't be able to get a job if you're not in school and you'll have to go back later in life if you drop out now. You're almost a adult too you're going to have to go out on you own soon and be able to support yourself, your parents can't do that for you forever you have to be able to do that. This could also affect your relationships in the future too, when you settle down with someone what are you going to do? A relationship has to financially be stable to have a future if you're serious. I'm not having the easiest time in my life right now and school I know is going to add stress to it but I'm not going to drop out. I am so emotionally scarred and I'm in my most serious relationship I've ever had. I plan on staying with this man in the long term. It's not a small crush. My emotions are all over the place too. so I'm sure you can get through this time, just meet your challenges head on no matter how hard it seems, the rewards will be good if you keep pushing. If you want to talk to me just email me.

I just recently graduated from high school this year in June...and I'll tell you the truth..: High School was a living hell for me...But when I look at the copy of my diploma in my wallet, I know that it was all worth it... Don't drop out.

Because if you do, most likely you will be a nobody. NOW, there have been cases where drop outs are these hugely-successful people, but do your self a favor and stay in school. 12th grade year was so much fun...( It was in fact, the only year of high school that I liked) You may regret not going to Prom, and Grad night (Senior Ditch Day for some) and all the stuff you do as a senior in school.

And anyway...Just having a high school diploma will benefit you in the future... Nowadays a lot of jobs (good jobs...not McDonald's)now, are requiring diplomas and they aren't settling for GED's...or whatever....

Stay in school....Please!!!!! If for nothing else, just stay in school
just to sleep in homeroom or free lunches..or something on that level.

So you were probably sick of it when you were a freshman, too, and a sophomore, etc., why would you waste all the time you've already been tortured and sick of school by dropping out now. Seriously, you've given 11 years of your life already to something boring and a pain in the ***, so doesn't another few months seem short compared to where you've been? You can stick it out, then take a break, but don't become a couch potato/moocher, not very pretty.

Besides, and this sounds mean but it's the truth, getting your GED later is kind of the same as having LOSER stamped on your forehead in the eyes of most jobs and colleges. You don't want to go there if you have other options.

I also hated school, but I finished, and I'm glad I did. I only regret that I did not go to college. My two oldest kids graduated from high school, and college. I didn't even have to do any persuading! My youngest daughter however, did well with her grades in high school, but had many problems with some kids that tried to cause problems for her. She couldn't stand it any more, so she did quit with my permission, because I could understand what she was going through. She promised me though, that she would get her GED, and she did within just a few months after she dropped out, and now she is attending a community college, and I am very proud of her. Just don't make a mistake because of others causing problems for you. Try to hang in there and finish for your sake. Today it is not only a must to finish high school, but also college! If you want to have a great life, and a good job, and nice things for the whole rest of your life, its worth just a few years of schooling to accomplish it all!! Good Luck!!

Whatever you do, STAY IN SCHOOL!! A high school diploma looks much better than a Ged on your resume, and it is your senior year!! Only one more left! You went all this way, and your diploma will show how hard you've worked. You need an education to get anywhere in your life, so don't. Because you dont like school, you can go to a trade school for your career. You will find your calling and you will have a diploma to fall back on!! Good luck in whatever you do- just make sure you're going to want to do it for the rest of your life. The decisions you make now will affect your entire life!!

OH MUH GAWD. You simply canNOT drop out now. I dropped out, I was soooo far behind and gave up. Eventually I matured enough to notice that gaining that durned education was an investment in myself. I discovered I loved learning and so went on to college and university (after the G.E.D.)(and had SO much fun). I realize high school is nothing like upper division.
Much of your education comes from the self-development you get from sticking it out. You really will look back and snicker telling stories. Hey, maybe later you'll want to motivate a teen to hang in there.
It's hard, H.S. can be unbearably sucky . . . but the training gives you grit. Be strong. What do you have to do (in your mind or in practice) to endure a little longer? Your inner reward awaits...
