they only play weird songs on the radio cuz it`s rock or rap. how come they don`t play techno or trance. like Aqua, Toybox, Vengaboys, Jenny Rom, or Eiffel 65???? who you listen to them?

The main reason that Techno doesn't get mainstream notice is because it is produced to magnify your roll on Ecstasy. Most people can't even listen to techno until they have done X and understand it. Before that, it makes no sense.
About rock, I remember when "alternative" had just came out and we were ostracized for listening to it. We were "freaks', "crazy', "weird" for liking it. Not everyone listens to it and I'm almost sure that some of the "Rock" you are referring to is that Winny self indulgent Emo bullshit. Alternative started out with the likes of Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Soundgarden. When the didn't want to call it "grunge' anymore. Most importantly...rock is cool. In all forms really.

Some of us listen to country, others jazz, and some listen only to talk radio. Lots of alternatives to rock and it's friends.

Rock and alternative is music that can be heard no matter where you are, and it's music that you can actually sing and make sense of it. It's cool music.
Trance and techno are good for clubs, but not for listening.

Didn't Aqua make that "Barbie girl" song? That may be the single most annoying song ever made. Techno and trance aren't music.

personally, i listen to an all 70's station. i do like techno when i'm clubbing or at a party
