Am I the only one who notices this? I think most of his movies have some whispering little kid who then sings some creepy lullaby in the advertisements. It makes me not want to watch his movies anymore.

When his movies are good, they're very good, but when they're bad ... look out below!

The "surprise twist" bit is more than a bit annoying by now. He's a one-trick pony ... let's put the creepy girl to bed now and see him attempt a slapstick comedy or something less obsessed with spirituality and the supernatural.

Yes, in fact it is a clause in his contract that he has a creepy, singing girl everywhere he goes, not just in the movies. When he goes on The Tonight Show, they have to put a creepy singing girl in his dressing room.

The Sixth Sense was AWESOME.

Unbreakable was very good.

They just keep getting worse from there. I haven't wanted to see any of his movies since Signs, which had a lot of good stuff in it but was ruined by a ridiculous plot flaw.

Personally, I don't care much about Mr. Shyamalan's movies, but I love the name Midnight. I'm going to name my son Midnight.

I honestly never noticed, whatsoever, mostly directors have a trademark, it means they repeat an element through their movies that says "this is my movie": tarantino likes to show bare feet, Sofia C, shows sunlight through leaves etc
M- Night seems to like to repeat elements he felt comfortable with, you can read about his most known trademarks here:

He is a protege of the late director Alfred Hitchcock. Hitchcocks signiture in his movies was that he would always have a brief appearance in them. That is just his signiture.
