There was a news story on the front page of Yahoo about a white bus driver who made 9 black students sit at the back of her bus. When I tried to recommend the story I was given a blank page. However, it never registered my vote/recommendation. And I couldn't find a Contact Us link to notify anyone. Weird huh?

I didn't read about this. Where did it occur and what was the date? Was it today (August 24th)? I would like to read more about this. Your statement does not clarify but were they forced to sit in the back because of skin color or was it something much more innocent? Were they late? Were all the other seats taken? Were they being rowdy or obnoxious? While on the surface this story sounds disturbing, there may have been a very innocent explanation for the bus driver's decision. It's not that I doubt the veracity of your story, but i find it hard to believe that a bus driver would force black kids to sit in the back of a bus in 2006. If you can please provide a source for your story we all could read more about it.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I just found the story and read it. It DOES sound like an unfair decision by that bus driver. I couldn't find ANY good reason to segregate the black students from the others. Hopefully her suspension will end with her termination. It is hard to believe that such attitudes still survive in this day and age. Thanks for the heads-up.

To bad Miss Rosa Parks wasn't around.....she would've had those kids up front and driving !!!! Seriously tho....if the driver did make them sit in the back he should be fired....that is so wrong...never did understand why ppl believed in segragation
