on the tv show lost's season 2 series finally...i didn't quite understand it on why it happened or how it's possible that it happened. can someone help me understand please!

There is nothing to understand. LOST is a show in which the answer to one question just brings up like seven more questions. I get the feeling nothing will ever be resolved in that show.
That being said, I still love the show and have yet to miss an episode. Michael worked with the others to bring Jack, Sawyer, and Kate to them, not pressing the button did result in something really really bad, and it seems Desmond's old flame has some clue of how to find him.

TV shows are all about ratings.
Lost is one of the most watched TV shows in USA and the world.
Like you I still have no clue and all the answers I have concluded or perceived from watching the complete 2 seasons are just scattered fractions.
I think if we knew what’s the show is all about there will be no advantage for the producers to attract viewers.
So all I have to say is have patients and wait for the next season, we all hope we will get some answers about WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON THAT ISLAND?

Micheal put them in a trap with the others...the episode really did kind of leave me wondering the same thing as you. The episode will air again before the first episode of the new season, and they will probably do the same thing they have done each season; put it all in a nutshell. Tivo it if you can so you don't miss it.
